Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Expert Council on Africa under the State Duma Alexander Babakov together with deputy, special representative of the Sochi City Assembly for international relations, member of the Expert Council on Africa under the State Duma Yuri Nemtsev met with the delegation of Sierra Leone within the framework of the first Ministerial Conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum. The delegation of the Republic of Sierra Leone was headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mrs. Frances Pagi Algali.

The participants of the meeting were:

- Nikolai Novichkov, deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, member of the Expert Council for Africa at the State Duma of the Russian Federation,

- Denis Khmelevsky, Deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnodar Territory, Chairman of the Council of the RO PP FAIR RUSSIA-FOR TRUTH in the Krasnodar Territory:

- Alexander Vorobyov, member of the Praesidium of the Central Council of the party "Fair Russia - For Truth" on interaction with civil society institutions;

Andrey Kovalev, councillor of the head of the city of Sochi

And from the Republic of Sierra Leone

- Mohamed Yongavo, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Sierra Leone to the Russian Federation;

- Conte Mohamed Sorie, Director of Legal Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Sierra Leone;

- Sanko Saspo Ibrahim, Counsellor, Consul of the Embassy of the Republic of Sierra Leone in the Russian Federation;

- Lahai Festus Juzu, attaché of the Embassy of the Republic of Sierra Leone in the Russian Federation.

During the discussion, the parties paid attention to the issue of strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Sierra Leone, emphasising the importance of developing friendly relations between parliaments.

Representatives of Russia spoke about the last BRICS summit, where a new format of interaction between the participating countries was laid, constantly expanding and open to new members. The importance of the interparliamentary meeting of the BRICS countries, previously held in St. Petersburg, was also noted.

It was proposed to hold joint cultural events, such as exhibitions and expositions, which contribute to the strengthening of mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries.

The African side expressed gratitude for the hospitality and supported all initiatives to develop inter-parliamentary cooperation. Representatives of Sierra Leone recalled the 63-year history of friendship between our countries, noting the successful educational and cultural programs implemented between the USSR and Sierra Leone.

Deputy Minister Frances Pegi Algali expressed hope for more frequent holding of such events and noted the desire to visit Sochi again, which made a great impression on her and reminded her of her native country. She emphasised Sierra Leone's urgent need for the development of energy and agricultural complex, and invited the Russian side to cooperate in this area.

At the end of the meeting, the Russian delegation thanked the guests and presented a memorable souvenir with the image of the State Duma building.
